![]() | Happy New Year guys! Time flies, I am already 29!!! I think I need to achieve certain goals when I reach 30! Already made a list, and let us not forget we were born to try. Let's work hard before the world ends! I always watched Rage every Saturday morning when I was in University. I remember I saw this MV many times as the song was very successful in Australia. The original ballad version really touches me, and I adore Delta's soaring vocal performance. Graham Stack turned the song's tempo up a little bit which is pretty decent. M*A*S*H version is abit messy and out of place though. 1. Born To Try (Graham Stack Remix) (4:13) 2. Born To Try (M*A*S*H Master Mix) (6:28) Right click the links above and choose 'save as' to save the files. Rihanna - Take A Bow (Remixes)
![]() | 2011 is coming to an end. The best thing for me is seeing my adorable nephew growing bigger day by day. This gift from above made me value my family much more than before. Another highlight of the year is the Taiwan trip with my good buddies. Ok, basically I have no complain about 2011. It's quite a show, very entertaining, but it's over now~~~ go on and take a bow~ Wishing everyone a merrier 2012! 1. Take A Bow (Tony Moran & Warren Riggs Encore Club) (9:18) 2. Take A Bow (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Club) (8:34) 3. Take A Bow (Groove Junkies Moho Club) (7:21) 4. Amber - Yes! (Remixes)
![]() | I remember there was a heavily rotated TV advertisement of a dance compilation when I was studying junior at high school. One of the songs in the ad was "This Is Your Night", that catchy chorus had stuck in my head for many years. Following the success of "This Is Your Night", Amber released several dance hits and "Yes!" was the first CD single of her I purchased. "Yes!" found Amber's further departure from her "This Is Your Night" Eurodance sound to a more mature and sensual zone. Hex Hector and Mac Quayle delivered a great peak hour club mix with a little mysterious Middle Eastern touch to the already-great original version. While Illicit's remix is more house oriented but it is less dramatic than the HQ2 effort. 1. Yes! (HQ2 Big Room Club Mix) (9:34) 2. Yes! (Illicit Club Mix) (9:14) Right click the links above and choose 'save as' to save the files. Mariah Carey - I Still Believe (Remixes)
![]() | Even though Sandy Lam has established her reputation as a dance diva, she has recorded so many great ballads that touch the deepest place of our hearts. Her “依然 (Still)” is surely many diehard fans' favorite. Sandy’s version is adapted from Brenda K. Starr’s 1988 top 20 single “I Still Believe”. Even though I am a fan of Sandy, I don't like her version at all as I think it is too long and boring. I prefer the English version because the arrangement is tighter that pushes the singer’s emotion to the climax. In 1998, Mariah Carey covered the song for her compilation album "#1's" as a tribute to Starr because she employed Carey as her back-up singer and helped handing Carey’s demo tape to Sony Music’s executive Tommy Mottola. Mariah caught a cold during her 1998 Butterfly world tour, since then her vocal had been hoarse for almost two years. I think her vocal has a unique texture during this period, and her rendition of “I Still Believe” is perfect with such husky crying-liked vocal performance. Several remixes were created and Mariah re-recorded her vocals for each of them. This is probably the only time to do so in her entire career. Two urban remixes by Stevie J and Damizza differ significantly from the original, especially the latter one as it retains none of the original music and only minor lyrical elements. The melody is heavily sampled from "Pure Imagination" from the film “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory”. A video was even shot for this remixed version. David Morales created three remixes, including the ‘Classic Club Mix’ that retains the original music and chord progressions. Yet, Mariah re-recorded the vocals completely. Other two remixes, namely ‘The Eve of Souls Mix’ and ‘The Kings Mix’, feature ad libs and shouting of Mariah over club beats, these vocals are completely differ from the ‘Classic Club Mix’. With these excellent dance remixes, “I Still Believe” hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Play Chart in April, 1999, becoming the only #1 remix up to that point isn't included in her 2003 compilation album “The Remixes”. Urban Mixes 1. I Still Believe (Stevie J. Remix featuring Mocha & Amil) (5:04) 2. I Still Believe/Pure Imagination (Damizza Reemix featuring Krayzie Bone & Da Brat) (4:32) Club Mixes 3. I Still Believe (Morales' Classic Club Mix) (9:05) 4. I Still Believe (The Eve Of Souls) (10:53) 5. I Still Believe (The Kings Mix) (8:04) Right click the links above and choose 'save as' to save the files. Sheena Easton - The Lover In Me (Extended Version)
![]() | Let's go back to Sandy Lam's adaptation series. "One Minute City, One Minute Love Affair (一分鐘都巿 一分鐘戀愛)" was a popular uptempo song by Sandy in late 80s. A string of dance songs from her City Rhythm era quickly defined her as a dance diva in Hong Kong. Sandy's version is adapted from Sheena Easton big hit "The Lover In Me", which reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Dance Club Play. Only a few German CD singles include the extended version of the song, which make these releases quite collectable. 1. Giorgio Moroder with Philip Oakey - Together In Electric Dreams (Extended)
![]() | Human League will be in town tomorrow for a one night only concert! Okay, actually I am not a fan of them but I quite like some of their classics. The song I like most is always featured in their greatest hits even though it's not their song! "Together In Electric Dreams" is a project of Human League lead singer Philip Oakey with producer Giorgio Moroder for the original soundtrack of the 1984 film "Electric Dreams". Because it was sung by Oakey and was a hit at the same time as the Human League's highest profile, it quickly became closely associated with the band. Even though I am not going tomorrow but I wish those who are going will have a wonderful night!!! 1.
